Validation is slooooow and deleting back ups question

Thread needs solution

Just installed the trial version of True Image Home 2011.

Seems to work fine BUT the validation process is excruciating slow and takes much, much longer than the actual back up.

Why is this?

Also, because of the painfully slow Validation, I had to cancel a full back up during its validation phase (even though the backup part had completed.)

Am I correct in understanding that True Home no longer recognizes this backup and I can can just delete it from within Windows?

I have two full back up files - one called OS_(C) that completed okay. The second is called OS_(0) which is the one I stopped during validation.

Then there is also an incremental back up file called OS_(0)2.

I want to save space by deleting one of the full backups -- which logic says should be the "incomplete" one (OS_(0)) I would think but then name of the incremental file suggests otherwise.

The Acronis interface gives no clue.

Needlessly unclear!!!!

Glad this is just a trial...

Normally the validation of a full backup takes the same time as a full backup. If you backup over the network, it can be worse.

Make sure that your backup is a disk and partition backup that contains all the partitions on the disk containing C:\

If you want to delete a backup, here is the recommended approach. Move the TIB file you want to keep to a hidden folder (temporarily). Delete the backup task in ATI. ATI will complain some files are missing. Insist.
Set up a new task. Include all partitions. Click on destination in the backup configuration window. Click on browse. Using the left panel, double click your way until you have open your target destination. Create the folder in Windows explorer before that if you want a special folder. Then type the name of the task in the box. Use a simple name without parenthesis. Eg: SystemDisk. Click OK. Save. Do not change the name of the task.
The naming convention is: the number between brackets is for full backups. The last number is for partial backups. The first partial is #2 (go figure).
