Version chain scheme dopdown causes shutdown

Thread needs solution

On my laptop running Windows7 Ultimate 64-but I'm running ATIH2011 build 6696. When creating a file backup and I click on the Version chain scheme dropdown the File Backup Options screen goes blank and the application closes.

First of all, please note that you're using an outdated build. We strongly recommend that you update to the latest one (feel free to find the instructions here).

Should the issue remain after the update, please gather the following diagnostic information, that may shed the light onto the issue cause: 

  1. Userdump
  2. Acronis Info

After that please open a support request and let us know it's number.

If build 6696 is out dated how come when I tell it to "check for updates" it tells me I'm running the latest version? Your web site also shows that I'm running the latest version. How about having someone that knows what they are doing post a valid answer to my problem?

So if your version is the latest, you have to collect the application dump. (actual link is http://kb.acronis.com/content/2192 because the process crashed, not hung)

When I try to do a Dump I get he following error in a Dump Process dialog; "The operation could not be completed. Access is denied" I tried running TIH2011 in admin mode and when I click on the Version Chain dropdown arrow, the dropdown opens and rapidly closes.

Thank you for the follow-up.

When you have the task manager running to collect the dump, either check or uncheck the "Show processes from all users" checkbox, sometimes it works one way or the other and the dump can be collected successfully.

When I follow your instructions about creating the DMP file, step 6 says to "pick the .DMP file". Why? none of the following steps use the file.

When I enter step 7, it just opened the C:\Users\Bob\AppData\Local\microsoft\windows\wer\reportarchive folder in WIndows Explorer.

In step 8 the C:\Users\Bob\AppData\Local\microsoft\windows\wer\reportarchive folder is empty.

How do I contact your chat support? When I go to the Support/Contact page and select Tech issues and select my software it brings me back to the same page and step 2 still grayed out.

I also noticed that when I click on the arrow in the "Version chain Scheme" dropdown that it blinks open and the closes.
