Versioning in 2009/2010
I have Acronis True Image Home version 2009 and wanted to know if when I went to restore a file if I was able to select a particular version? if not then if I upgrade would 2010 allow this?
Thanks,
Chris

YOu can't select a version when you backup or restore as you can only have one version installed and a version makes only one kind of backup (that is,, e.g., ATI 10 only makes ATI 10 backups). However, rule of thumb is version x will handle version x-1 and sometimes x-2. So a backup made with, say version 10, can be restored with veresion 11 and the subsequent version, ATI 2009. Sometimes you can get away with restoring x-3. But one version back is all that guaranteed, irrc.

I'm going to read the original post differently. I think he wants to know if you are able to restore a particular version of a data file not the version of TI being used.
Disclaimer: This is my understanding of how it works - I don't do incrementals. TI2009 and earlier versions can make incrementals. If this is what you want I recommend you test it and see if it provides the desired result.
If you make a full backup, then modify File A, then make an incremental backup, the first version of the file can be restored from the full backup by selecting it. If you want the modified File A then you would select the incremental backup. So as long as you keep the backup and the chain of incrementals you can restore the file as it exists when a particular incremental was made by selecting the correct incremental.
You can also achieve the same result by doing full backups but to keep the versions would mean keeping all the fulls which needs much more storage space.

I read the OP's first post the same way that Seekforever did. I believe that Chris is asking if he can restore any previous version of a file from a backup. You can, if you have made incremental backups.
I will also add my two cents here. The best implementation of "previous versions" is in Windows Vista and Windows 7, which seamlessly integrate the ability to see and recover any previous version of a file as it used to exist on a disk. The feature is accessed by right-clicking on the file and choosing "Restore previous versions".
