VERY DISAPPOINTED After Years of TI Use -- Can't Restore or Clone

Thread needs solution

Version: TI Home 20I1 build 2 6868
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on AMD 6-Core System
Drives: Mostly SATA, a few IDE

I started with v.9, then upgraded to v.11 but once I had to rebuild my system this summer on a 64-bit system, I had to upgrade to TI Home 2011. Before this version, I always had the peace of mind that I could rely on TI. Not only that, I have recommended and sung the praises of TI on tech forums for video and other such applications.

NO MORE and now I'm in panic mode for I cannot even clone to a disk -- the last resort after no longer being able to restore.

And yes, I have re-installed and re-installed the program to try to flush out problems. Hasn't changed a thing.

RESTORE PROBLEMS:

First, contrary to Help files, there seems to be no ability to choose a destination drive other than the original C:\ (which requires a reboot of course). I need to restore to ANOTHER drive as an emergency OS. Why doesn't a page come up where one can do so?

Second, the last time I even tried to do a restore, the progress bar barely started and within a few seconds, it just aborted. Over and over.

CLONE PROBLEMS:

Fortunately, I was able to get one cloning done onto a smaller SATA by using Manual so as to shrink-to-fit. However...

... now, I cannot choose another destination drive (IDE or SATA) because TI grays them out on the Destination page seemingly because they are on RAID interface--they are NOT. I've never had RAID in 14 years of computing. And I checked my BIOS just in case some quirk happened. None.

I do have AHCI on 6 of my SATA interfaces on the mobo so that I can hotswap drives when necessary.

AHCI is not RAID. TI should know the difference.

NO WAY OUT

I came to Acronis because of disappointment with Ghost almost 10 years ago. I wish I could use my Seagate or Western Digital firmware, but these are now ALL Acronis. I still don't want Ghost but I feel I'm totally stuck with almost a monopoly -- it's Acronis or nothing now. I've thought of using and installing one or the other of those stripped down versions but they probably don't include partition resizing.

And Then There Is The Upgrade Price...

Charging so much money on each upgrade -- almost full price is like an insult to loyalty. Besides, I can't even trust TI anymore at this point, so upgrading is not even an option now.

Oh, and last, why is it that I choose my location as the U.S. at Acronis but end up on a forum with Japanese mixed in? I don't even know if this is the right forum for me to post in, but it's the only one I can get to.

I don't know or read Japanese.

Please accept my apologies for the tone in some of the above, but I have years of work to protect and for the first time, I feel at a loss - and actually panicked right now for if my system goes down and can't restore or clone, it will take me weeks to rebuild everything.

PLEASE HELP.
Thank you.
