Very slow - is this normal
I just got setup with Acronis Cloud. I've used the local imaging backup software (onto local external drive) for years...
But yesterday I made the shift to cloud as well.
I'm currently at my second connection (the first was home, last night and now at the office)...
My 160GB image is suggesting anything from 4 - 160 DAYS to completion.
The best I'm seeing is 3.3 Mbit/second.
I don't expect there's anything wrong with my connection.
Is this normal? Should 160GB image take 4+ days to build?
----------------------------------
Also... I ran this backup overnight last night and woke up to a Failed error message. I'm guessing it "dropped" or "timed out" or something else went wrong. I'd expect a more reliable solution for a popular back-up software.
-----------------------------------
Third and final question... isn't there a way to PAUSE a back-up? I mean having 4 days of back-up (which seems to fail/time-out and therefore start again at step 0 ) is ridiculous. I would have expected ability to initiate a back-up and continue with it.
Does the whole image have to be built in one run? And with failed/time-out issues, does that even ever happen?

Hello Rob,
This is the nature of the internet and cloud storage for large amounts of data as I am sure you must be aware.
You say you are getting 3.3Mbps upload speed (which is pretty good) . The expected upload time is calculable.
1 Gigabyte = 8,000 megabits.
160 Gigabyte = 1,280,000 megabits
1,280,000 Mbits @ 3.3Mbps = 387,878secs = 6,464.5 mins = 107.8 hrs = 4.5 days (Approximately)
If the speed remains at 3.3Mbps throughout the upload, it would, in theory, take approximately 4.5 days.
Speeds hardly ever remain constant so it may take longer.
Regarding the stopping and restarting, I would normally suggest that the connection is dropping and re-connecting. This can be checked by asking your provider if, and at what times, your connection has been interrupted. Considering that you have tried 2 different connections|providers, although not impossible, this is unlikely to be the cause.
I think it is time for Acronis tech-support to offer some assistance if you can't solve the issue.

Keep happy - life is too short to do otherwise.

I've been using TI 2015 for a couple months now and I can attest there is a bit of a learning curve on how best to set up your backup plans but cloud is a pretty point and click deal.
I just finished a fresh backup of 1.2TB media files in 8 days. I average 2 mb/s upload.
The timer to completion is just for entertainment, it is very inaccurate.
In those 8 days I started and stopped backups, restarted computer for other things, never a hickup so I would suggest getting a chat going with a support tech. Chat has worked very well for me.
