Vista loading screen is loading and loading and dont stops
Hi,
i have cloned my C Partition to a new Drive, both 1 TB Drives, both Sata Seagate. I have started with the Acronis Rescue CD, and then cloned the drive to the other one. Then Shut down and disconnected the original Drive and connected the new drive to the cable were the old drive was connected, now i want to boot up vista, but i only see the loading screen and its loading without end. Ive waited 10 minutes and nothing, Then i started again and tried the Safe Mode of Windows, this is no Problem windows loads. In the Windows Protokols there are no errors i see.
Also the Partition is marked as active.
Now what should i do? If i reconnect the old hdd the systems runs up without problems in 13 seconds, But the newly cloned drive keeps hanging on Loadings screen of Windows Vista :-(
I dont know what i should do, i dont want to install vista new :-(
Ive tried also the repairmode from vista Boot CD, This finds errors and fixes it, but after restart, the same thing again...loading screen...
Can anybody help me please? I am Using True Image Home 2009
Thanks
tom

Hello Tom!
Welcome to our Forum, we're glad you joined us!
Thank you for reporting about the issue. I completely understand your concern and will be glad to assist you.
Since Safe mode is loading, then the issue is not with the Windows boot, but with some driver of some software that's trying to load, but cannot (probably it usually gets tied to particular drive).
In order to find out the exact cause we will need some additional information. Could you please gather following?
- 1. Press F8 during the Vista boot, choose "Enable Boot Logging" from the menu, and then boot problem Vista.
2. Once the problem is reproduced (wait for ~15 minutes for Windows to hang on loading), please make sure NOT to load to safe mode (otherwise boot log may be overwritten) - and right away reboot the machine into Acronis standalone mode (i.e. boot from the resque CD).
3. Create a files/folders backup of %windows%\ntbtlog.txt file from the problem disk. - 4. Then also create files/folders backup of \Windows\System32\Config\SYSTEM file
- - Download Acronis Report utility
- Run Acronis Report utility and select the Create bootable media option;
- Insert a blank CD or a flash drive and proceed with creating the bootable media;
- Boot the computer under consideration from the created media. Choose Safe version if you are going to save the report to an internal hard disk. Choose Full version if you are going to save the report to a network share or external USB disk. Wait for report creation process to complete;
- Acronis Report will appear on the selected media as report.txt. - Please obtain Acronis Linux Report from the Bootable Media with the problem HDD attached
- Please obtain Acronis Info from the source drive
After that please kindly contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you!

Tom,
An alternate solution (using TI latest 2009 version) might be the following if you are willing to redo your procedure with a few changes.
First, I suggest you read item 7D inside my signature below.
As for the changes, here are my suggestions. You have to realize that cloning puts your original at risk. Be absolutely certain you have a "disk" option backup of your master before attempting another clone.
1. Install the target disk in its intended installed boot position. (See Note-1 below)
2. Install the original source disk in an alternate location.
3. Boot from the TI Rescue CD .
3a. See note-1:
4. Select the following Clone options
a. Clone mode =Manual
b. Source disk=original master disk wherever located
c. Target disk=New blank disk located inside the computer in its boot position.
d. Move method = AS IS
e. On summary page, confirm your selected option particularly to make sure the correct disks are selected.
f. After completion of the clone procedure,
Shutdown and disconnect the master source disk.
g. Reboot with only the new target disk installed.
Note-1: It is recommended that the target disk be blank and unpartitioned. You can use the TrueImage Add Disk option to remove/delete the existing partitions in order to make the target disk blank. This option can be performed from within the Rescue CD and prior to performing step 4 of the instructions.
