w7 disconnects from XP machines after Acronis backup

After running an Acronis (True Image Home 2012, latest version) backup on a W7 pro machine, XP machines on the network can no longer access that machine and a reboot is required.
It happens on 2 w7 machines, each running 1 app using Server 2008, but no other apps.
Is this an Acronis bug, a W7 bug, or both?
