Want to upgrade my 2009 (which is no longer supported) and migrate it to Win 7 as Win XP is evaporating

Thread needs solution

That's it as above. I have been going around in circles looking for some help to migrate. I need to reinstall the one I have on XP (2009) over to Win 7 before I can upgrade to the latest and greatest 2014. But the install disk I paid $90 bucks for in 2009 will not install because the Win 7 can't read a file on the disk. It tells me I may not have permission to read the file even though I have admin status on the Win 7. I want to upgrade thanks to Microsoft but I should be able to get the upgrade at the promised lesser price than the complete brand new software. Can anyone suggest a polite way of solving this issue.

1. If you own an original full copy of any version, you can upgrade to the most recent version under the upgrade price--at least, that is how I understand it.

2. The upgrade file is a standalone file which does not need to have prior versions installed.
During the install of the new upgrade, user must input the serial number to the prior owned version plus install the serial number for the new upgrade. Copy and paste from clipboard is the easiest way to input the serials.

3. If you have any version of TI installed on the XP system and its serial is part of the upgrade, it should be uninstalled. No installation is needed on the XP system.

4. If you have any version of TI installed on the Win 7 system and its serial is part of the upgrade, it should be uninstalled. The new upgrade should be installed fresh on a system which does not include any old versions of TrueImage.

5. Any old version will need to be de-activated in order to use the serial on anther installation.
