Wanted to say something nice about 2010- like VHD file creation is great!
I had a Vista and Windows 7 dual boot for a while and made one last backup of my Vista partition with Acronis 2010 then had 2010 create a Windows backup .vhd file from that backup.
Got rid of the Vista partition but have been able to mount the vhd file in Windows 7 and can even play Left 4 Dead and American McGee's Alice right from the virtual mounting in Windows 7 so I did not have to reinstall those games into Windows 7. Whenever I want to play those games, I mount the virtual drive through Computer Management ( it's called "attaching the VHD).
Just want the developers to know that many of the features in the new 2010 are very much appreciated. :)
Now, be forewarned that NOT ALL APPS or games "like" this routine and some will not run so it's not like you can look forward to using ALL your apps from your Vista vhd file but some will run quite nicely.

I didn't know that my Windows 7 Home Premium could do this. Just mounted my last Vista installation (after conversion) and played a couple of small arcade type games that obviously need no registry entries.
Of course I now just realised you could so the same mounting the original tib file (right click- mount). I just played the same game.
