WD Acronis backup won't boot from HD

Back in 2011 I purchased a computer that had a WD HD with Acronis installed. Made boot recovery disk. In 2013 updated to True Image 2013. Have HD backed up on a WD Passport. HD crashed and installed new WD HD and, using the WD version of boot rescue media (the 2013 boot not working) I cloned to new HD.

When I boot with new HD all looks well, but when I click on my "welcome" icon I get "the user profile service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. The "fix" seems to be to log on to admin account thru safe mode. However, I can't get to safe mode to log on with user account with admin rights. My options on start up are DEL or F12 (bios). F8 (safe mode) is not an option and pressing this key does nothing. O/S Windows 7.

Any other way I can change my "user profile"?
