What is aszbrowsehelper.exe ?
I am running Win 7 x64 Ultimate with ATIH 2012. Whenever I use Nikon Transfer to download camera files from a CF card in the reader Win7 comes up with a security box asking if I want to allow aszbrowsehelper to make changes to my computer. It asks me not once but three times in a row before it will let me use Nikon Transfer. As you can imagine this is rather annoying but I don't want to make any changes to my security level for just this one problem.
Can anyone tell me what aszbrowsehelper does for a living, why it's doing it with Nikon Transfer and is there any way I can stop the messages coming up? Is there perhaps a way of getting Win 7 to trust it?
All help greatfully received

No ideas what this bit of Acronis does?
Please

Just what the property details of the file itself say: "Acronis True Image ASZ Browse Helper"
The .asz extension isn't registered as a file type, at least not in my registry, but some online info suggests that it is "primarily associated with 'LoseThos' ... an operating system for programming as entertainment." See http://filext.com/file-extension/ASZ
How that might be related to Acronis TIH operations I haven't any idea. You could try asking the Acronis support people, but they aren't always very forthcoming about TIH's "behind the scenes" functionality.

This is probably an extension to be able to see the ASZ (Acronis Secure Zone) in Windows Explorer.

OK, it never occurred to me that 'browse' referred to browsing files. The reference to LoseThos doesn't ring any bells with me or seem to have any relation to the Nik software.
If it is something to do with the Secure zone, why on earth would it be invoked by running nikon ViewNX? there doesn't seem to be any connection. Not to mention of all the dozens of apps I have on the machine this is the only one that has invoked "Acronis True Image ASZ Browse Helper" let alone three times in a row per startup.
I have to say I'm beginning to lose faith in ATH. I've been using it for 4 years and last week, for the first time I had to restore a backup. I tried to restore the non-stop backup and it failed completely. Fortunately I also had a week old disk image available which did restore with the loss of just 4 days worth of e-mails but the seed of doubt is planted. Frankly I wish I could go back to Ghost 8 on floppies (100% reliable in my old work enviroment) but I suppose we have to move with the times.
Thanks for the comments folks

So far as the TIH2012 application itself is concerned, I'm quite sure that Pat L is correct in suggesting that it's related to Acronis Secure Zone (ASZ) browsing. How it might relate to your Nikon transfer operation's call to ViewNX (presumably for viewing the transferred images) is, as you say, not easily explained. My own conjecture about some possible "programming as entertainment" connection (or misconnection) via file types registration was purely speculative having nothing better to offer in response to your multiple queries.
Frankly, based on my own experience with the TIH2012 release's stealthy gimmicks and its unexplained background operations, some of which are apparently mysterious even to their own support personnel, nothing would surprise me very much.
