What is average time for creating an image

I was wondering what is the usual time to make an image. I'm
running Win XP SP3 on a 40 g HD, with only 10.5 g used and it
takes over 1 1/2 hrs to complete. I've only had this software a
short time and had some other problems which have been resolved
and before that I know it didn't take that much time to make a
backup image of my HD. But the last two have taken that long and
that seems way to long. Any one else have this problem or is this
normal. Using True image 10, on win xp sp3 with 1.5 g ram.
