What to do?

I just purchased True Image and after reading much material not sure what to do. I have widows 7. I have created a partition (D) called Data. My operating system and programs are on the C drive. All my data files: Documents; Pictures; Media; etc. are on the Data drive.

What I want to do is make a backup, rescue, image or whatever the correct terminology is of my C drive onto a USB drive. This will be a copy of the first install of the win 7, MS Office and all updates as of the date of copy. I don't want or need to copy the Data drive.

Every month or so I want to reimage/restore from the backup copy, install any updates to the OS and MS Office, and then make a new back up to the USB drive.

The USB drive must be bootable on startup and hopefully I have the ability to choose which backup copy to reinstall. Normally, it would be the last copy, but having the flexibility would be good.

Can someone help in providing a step by step list roadmap of what I need to do? Thank you!
