What is the effective date/time for a backup.
Inquiring minds want to know! Backups of large partitions take quite a while - especially if going to the Cloud. I would normally assume (possibly incorrectly) that backups saved files in the state they were in when the backup process gets to that file, but this approach would be expected to cause problems (particularly on the boot partition) when multiple files need to be 'in sync' with one another to work together properly. How does the backup program, running over a period of time that may be measured in days for an initial backup, ensure that the image saved represents a valid set of files that (particularly for a boot drive) will run without error if restored? Related to this is the question given as the subject of this topic. Does the saved data correspond to the machine state shortly after the backup started, right at the end, or somewhere in between?
