What happens when backup location is full?

Thread needs solution

I'm using Acronis True Image Home 10.

For Differential backups, the on-screen notes say "When the specified number of differential backups is reached, a new full backup is created, and so on until the set backup location limits are reached. *Then the oldest backup will be deleted and so on*".

My question is, if making only FULL backups, what happens when the backup location becomes full?
Does the oldest full backup get deleted automatically to make room for a new full backup or is manual deletion required by the user to make space?

If you set a limit, such as total number of backups or total size or age, then yes the oldest backup(s) would be deleted.

You must allow sufficient room for an extra backup, as ATI won't delete the old backup(s) until after creating the new one.

If you set the backup scheme for automatic cleanup as per illustration (adjusting the x options to your own needs) , then the program will delete the older backups as new ones are created keeping x number of recent backup chains (each full backup) as per your specs. The program will work much like an escalator--old backups deleted as new backups are added.

Exactly what will happen to your existing situation will depend upon how you set the options within the backup scheme. If backup task needs editing, my personal suggestion is to avoid all edits--if edits needed, create a new task pointing to a new empty storage sub-folder.
