What happens when I run out of space on the backup destination?

Thread needs solution

I have set Acronis to do a full system backup with incremental versions. I understand I cannot set Automatic cleanup with this type of backup. What happens when I reach the capacity of the backup destination? Can I delete just the oldest backup chains manually or must I delete the entire backup with its files and start all over with a new backup scheme? This does not seem logical so I assume I have missed something.

Yes, you can set the backup scheme for automatic cleanup using this as a guide. However; you will need to start over with a new scheme as editing a prior scheme is not a good practice as it usually does not work.

GH12. Create Custom Incremental Backup Scheme. ...Keep Full plus 6 Inc per chain. Store/Keep 4 chains. Use whatever number best fits your needs.

Thank you GroverH. Your reply was extremely helpful and I have succeeded in creating the backup schedules I need. Much appreciated.
