What if I don't mount the securezone disk at all times?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Extract from True Image documentation:
"Note that Acronis Secure Zone can be located on basic disks only; you cannot create it on dynamic disks and volumes, as well as GPT disks."

My Question.
I want to create a secure zone on my second physical hard disk.
But very occasionnally I need to disconnect this hard disc to mount another "data only" disk.
Will this prevent my system from working properly?
Or to the contrary as long as I do not use the "True Image" programs this will have no effect at all.
How about scheduled tasks?

Thank you.

Hello Jacques Driscart,

Thank you very much for your post. I will be happy to assist you.

We have no reported issues with this, however, please keep in mind, if you have activated activated Acronis Startup Recovery Manager and then disconnected the hard disk, the MBR code of the boot hard drive will be trying to find the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager boot code on a non-existent drive. You will then be unable to boot your OS.

If the scheduled tasks were saving backups to Acronis Secure Zone, most likely they will fail.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you.
