What is "updates" of recent back ups?
So I am running TI 2010 build 7046. And I have been debating if it is wiser to run incremental backups, dif backups, or just forget all of that and do periodic full disk images and then delete the older ones when space becomes a concern. (BTW, any opinions from long term users?)
While trying to figure the above out, I noticed that there is a section on the home page that says "recent backups". And to the right of each back up is a button called "update". I almost by accident clicked on this, the update button next to my most recent full disk backup, and some action started running. I could not find any thing describing the function of this button or explaining what an "update" is. ( this is all laid out quite different from my old TI9) When it finally quit, I noticed on the external HD a new file had been created that was about 1/3 the size of the original file. The original file was called fdbu060410 ( 22 GB created june 4) and the new file was fdbu0604102 (9 GB created today). I can't find it now, but at some point I thought I saw the word "incremental" associated with this new file. Is that what the "update" button does, created an incremental backup?
