When Typing the Backup Name, the Cursor Advances to the Wrong Position

Thread needs solution

In Acronis True Image Home 2011, build 6696, when you open the "Disk Backup" window and type the backup name, the cursor will advance to an incorrect position if you type in the middle of a word.

The attached screen captures shows what happened when I tried to change the name "Thursday Backup" to "Thursday Morning Backup":

1. I typed the name "Thursday Backup" into the Backup Name field
2. I moved the cursor right before the "B"
3. I typed the "M" (and the cursor skipped to the end of the name)
4. I typed the rest of the word "orning"

No matter where you place the cursor, it keeps jumping to the end of the name when you start typing.

The best time to create a backup name of your choice is not to do so from the main screen but choose to select the destination folder (even if not changing) and on that screen, type in the intended name of the backup file which will also become the name of the task.

TechJPB,

Yes you are correct that is a UI issue with 2011. You can type one letter at a time when you edit the task name, and then you reposition the cursor.

As a note, I recommend against editing the task name. With 2011, you are better off keep the name of the backup file without date or time tags, and keep the task name the same as the file name (do not puse blank spaces either).
This way avoids some file naming and/or database issues is some corner cases.
