When using Clone disk image I am asked to reboot and loose it all
I go th rough all the steps to create a Clone Image through the Clone Disk Wizard and get a pop up stating Reboot is required the operation will be cancelled if you choose to reboot now. Therefore canceling out what I have set up. I do a reboot and nothing transfers. The computer just starts a reboot and stalls (locks up???). I am using a completely updated XP OS system.

Hello David and GroverH!
Thank you very much for opening the thread regarding the cloning process!
As perfectly correct stated GroverH (thank you!), the most preferable way to perform cloning is doing it by using the Acronis Bootable Rescue Media CD: this way is the safest due to we do not deal with the system drivers while they are running - thus no mess is caused.
In order to clone the drive from the Bootable CD, please kindly do the following:
- Create the Acronis Bootable Rescue Media CD by going to Tools -> Create Bootable Rescue Media in the main Acronis True Image menu.
- Reboot your machine and on the very booting press F2 - this should get you into the BIOS. Choose the Boot sequence option and set the CD-ROM to be the first (to have the first priority). Insert the CD and reboot the machine. After that it will boot strictly to the CD and will get you to the Acronis True Image main menu
- Choose to Clone the drive and proceed with the operation.
- As soon as the cloning is completed, turn off the machine, unplug one of the drives to avoid mess with booting, and boot the computer back.
And here you are!
Please let me know should anything be confusing or you have any additional questions - I will be glad to help!
Thank you.
