Which ATI for Windows 7?

Thread needs solution

Hey folks - here am one really contended user of Acronis ATI 2009.

After a serious breakdown of my Vista Home Premium pc I succeded in recover my c-drive with operating system and programs using a full backup with Acronis 2009. I am very happy, although it took some time finding out, that I needed a bootable version of Acronis. Maybe I had it, then I couldn't find it. But I could open Vista in safe mode, and from there make my bootable cd. And after some tries I found the best full backup to recover my c-drive sector-by-sector (had to go back 3 weeks). It worked!

But never the less I have decided to upgrade my Vista to Windows 7, which is more stable. Can I still use my Acronis 2009 for weekly full backups (and restore at emergency), or do I have to upgrade Acronis ATI 2009 to something newer? (Of course I can't use my Vista-backups to restore a Win 7 system).

Greetings from a happy woman in Denmark
Kirsten

Hello Kirsten,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum. Let me assist you with your questions.

Windows 7 is supported by our latest version of Acronis True Image Home which is called Acronis True Image 2011 Home.

Since you already own a copy of ATIH2009 you can upgrade to ATIH2011 for half the price.

In case you will need to restore your computer in a disaster/recovery situation you can always download Acronis Bootable media from your Acronis web-account.

Before purchasing Acronis True Image 2011 Home you can download a trial version which is fully functional for 30 days and for which we also offer support. This KB article has a list of all KB articles related to ATIH 2011. You can also check ATIH 2011 lite guide here.

If you need additional help please let me know.

Thank you.
