Which Drive Encryption To Use w/ Acronis 2012

I've been reading some of the articles about problems trying to clone an encrypted drive so it truely can just be swaped out if there are issues. Granted, most of these articles are dated, so my question may be too.

Does anyone have any recommendations on which encryption software/options work best with Acronis 2012?

I like to clone my HD before I leave on trips and would like to encrypt the drive on my new notebook, assuming it won't mess up my cloaning capabilities.

I just got burned with the McAfee issue on my new HP notebooks, but luckily I was just setting up the notebook and hadn't totally switched over to it. But I don't think McAfee (installed on HP's) is going to be on my list...

Thoughts?...
