Why would a person chose Acronis

I own acronis 10 and 11. I backup religiously. The hard drive is bad. It is Sunday night. I recovered the computer but low and behold the computer does not boot properly. So I ask a person, why would a person use their hard earned money to buy Acronis. It did not recover the computer properly and now I have to spend most of the night trying to get windows to boot properly. A backup software is suppose to be their when disaster strikes but not Acronis. Acronis does not equal reliability.

First of all, let me apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with our product. I will help you to figure our what happened in this particular situation to prevent it from happening in the future.

As far as I understand, you have tried to recover some image with one of your versions (Acronis True Image 10.0 Home or Acronis True Image Home 11) and after the recovery the system does not boot properly, is that correct?

Could you please clarify the following:

-What exact product have you used

-The build number of the product, which you can find in the Help -> About dialog (it should be a 3 or 4 digit number)

-What exact image you restored (its source, destination drive); I assume it was a partition image, have you included some build in recovery partitions to it (such as EISA)

-What operating system do you have in your image

-What is the text of the error message you've received at boot

-Was your image recovered to the same PC with the same hardware, or you're recovering onto dissimilar

Also, in some situations of system boot failure the issue can be fixed by repairing MBR as it is described in this article (please provide me with the exact text of error so I can clearly determine whether MBR is the cause here or not).

Have you tried to load Last Known Boot Configuration? Please reboot your computer to load this mode. The description of this process is given below:

1. Click Start and then click Shut Down.

2. In the drop-down list of the Shut Down Windows dialog box, click Restart, and then click OK.

3. When your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8.
On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press F8 when the boot menu appears.

4. Use the arrow keys to highlight the Last Known Boot Configuration, and then press ENTER.

Then check if the issue persists. I am sure that we will be able to fix this issue as soon as you clarify the questions I posted above. Please do not hesitate to ask me if something is not clear for you.
