Will nonstop backup with external hard drive auto start once it's set up?

I'm using true image 2014. I would like to use the nonstop back up feature to backup all partitions on my hard drive to a usb external passport drive. For security reasons, I will be removing this drive at the end of my work day. My computer is always on. It will auto update many programs after hours. My question is when I reattach my usb external drive, will the nonstop backup "auto start" and update these changes or will I need to open Acronis and click the nonstop protection button on the original set up for this to take care of things or will I have to open Acronis and set up a new nonstop backup each day to ensure that I get complete backup of my partitions and any changes? Thanks for any help.
