Will not create bootable media for WD Passport drive
Hello,
I just bought Acronis True Image Home 2012 Plus Pack. I also bought a WD Passport external usb drive. Acronis won't allow me to set this as a bootable media. Is this because of the NTFS file system? Does Acronis need FAT?

Mark,
Only what a computer considers as removable media can be made bootable: CD, DVD, USB Flash Drive. USB spin disks can't. Doesn't relate to the file system.

Just in addition, some Passport drives come with their own drivers which prevent the drive from behaving as harddrives. So if you have th ePassport running the software that comes with it, try disabling that.
Some USB drives reprot themselves as hard drives instead of removable media, those that do can be made bootable those that don't can't. It depends on how the caddy manufacturer has defined the firmware drive ID.
