Win 7 intergration with 2011 plus from Vista hm pre
2011 plus pack was successfully installed on Vista with back up to an external usb drive using the option of disk/partion single scheme and selected file backups. I upgraded to Win 7 home prem 32. I went to section 1.3.6 of the manual pgs 32-34 and followed the steps to intergate Acronis. I clicked on "intergate into windows" after reviewing the three options available and included all three. It did not work. The steps as to when to turn off and on the control panel were not clear. I tried several combinations and rebooted but there was no effect on the start menu. I expect I have overlooked something but do not know of course what that might be.

Response to First Forum reply
When I right clk on document file 1 in the target drive which must be a .tib file but there is no indication of that, I see the Win 7 menu with “Open” to “Properties” listed. There is no “archive” term. Clking on properties on this menu gives a variety of tabs specific to this Acronis file but none is titled archive.
Found no meaning for ATI in Acronis help search. There is no Acronis info in the backup control panel. Correction I have no knowledge of a backup control panel or whether that is Win 7 or an Acronis reference. I guessing this means the Acronis control panel that now should be within the Win 7 control panel but is not. This panel is the main menu page I get when I launch Acronis Plus 2011.
This is also referred to as the Acronis console?
I have no idea of what a protected partition is – but I suspect it is the Recovery D on the C drv when I bought the PC or to the target – backup drive. I do not understand how this might fix the integration issue – in that there is no info at all about Acronis as is to be expected after integration in the control panel.
While I do have a variety of list of Acronis features such as “One click back up” in my Start menu there does not seem to be any .exe which refers to an installer allowing me to clk repair. Where is the installer?
There is a “system clean up” within the Acronis start menu but I choose not to guess about whether that was the same as the “clean up utility” being referred to as ops system reference rather than specific as a utility of Acronis. I cannot uninstall ATI as I do not know where it is or what it is and searches do not find it.
When I clked on system clean up it found over 400 items to remove but what specifically they were I had no idea. I will try a search on your web site for a clean up utility.
If I clk on win 7 control panel there is no Acronis control panel in as to be expected from the “Integration settings”.

John,
ATI means Acronis True Image.
When you launch ATI, under help, select "settings", then "integrate TrueImage...", are all the choices checked?
If yes, relaunch the installer of ATI, and select "repair Install" when the installer splashscreen shows up.
A protected partition is a partition for which you have a backup. Nothing more.
The installer is the file you get when you download ATI from your Acronis account, or the Autorun.exe on the installation DVD if you got ATI on a DVD. You need to register your software on Acronis.com to have access to the installer file.
You will find the Acronis Cleanup Utility here: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/14906

Acronis Forum second response – installer file?:
Summary: I am an register owner of 3 Acronis products but yet cannot get specifics as to how I get/locate the “installer” file containing the “repair” feature which is part of the overall online download.
Review – rephrasing the Acronis 2011 plus pack integration issue from Vista to Win 7.
I have a partial integration because the initial Win 7 start menu has the has Acronis listed and a click on “all programs” shows two Acronis folders. Acronis and Acronis Tools each having a variety of Acronis features. I say partial because on what I call sys task bar in the bottom right hand corner the Win 7 flag indicates there is at least one error to deal with. The msg continues to be “set up back up” and suggests going to the “action center”. A quick click does not initiate Acronis but the basic Win 7 backup software. I quickly cancel that before it finishes. So Win 7 has yet to recognize Acronis as the backup (which is working fine as it did under Vista).
A solution suggested by the Acronis Forum twice among others is to utilize the install feature and chose the reapair feature if I am registered Acronis owner. Yes I am registered owner. In looking for this “installer” that has a repair feature I searched utilizing the following: the search feature in the start menu, search feature in Acronis help and the online manual search of Acronis. I call find no installer file.
Please tell me the specific steps to obtain and or locate this file which I apparently should have somewhere as a registered owner. I would need it as well if I need to remove and re install Acronis.
Note: I have checked all three options in settings for the intergration feature.

John,
To access the Repair option:
Double click on the 2011 most recent download file which you used before to install 2011.
This will start the install program and one of its checks is to see if you have 2011 installed and if you do, it will offer you a repair and a modify option. Choosing the repair option will enable to program to re-install 2011 overtop of the existing version.

Hey John,
After you download the Acronis True Image (ATI) on your desktop, let's say, you should see something like the installer.jpg that is attached to this post.
Double click on it, choose install. Then the second picture (repair_installation.jpg) should show up. Choose repair.

I have studied carefully your last two emails. I then went to the program files to review the d/ls and look for the “installer.jpg”. (I would like to suggest that the “repair” feature in that file needs to be placed in the Acronis Utility and Tools file.)
I clk in the Start Menu then Computer>HP (C:) >Program Files>Acronis. Clk on Acronis gives you another file Acronis True Image and within that are these files with their jpegs but there is no installer file: (see attachment - I was unable to snip out the repetitions.)
Would you please tell me how to download the installer with repair?

John,
As stated in post #6,
The installer file is part of the download file. The information below is for the English version
Name of program= TrueImageHome 2011 build 6696
Name of download file and installation file== ATIH2011_6696_en-US.exe
Name of program= 2011 Plus Pack build 6696
Name of download and installation fileATIH2011PP_6696_en-US.exe
To access the Repair option:
Double click on the 2011 most recent download file which you used before to install 2011.This will start the install program and one of its checks is to see if you have 2011 installed and if you do, it will offer you a repair and a modify option. Choosing the repair option will enable to program to re-install 2011 overtop of the existing version.
If you do not have these files on your computer, then return to your Acronis Registration page (upper right corner of this webpage) and download these files again.
