win 8 unbootable restore - please help!
Hi all.
First of all, I'll state that I've been a user of TI2010 for years, never had any issues. A friend's Win8 HP laptop began having cooling fan problems and had to be sent in for warranty repair.
So I, as I did for many years with TI2010 (but had to upgrade to TI2013 for Win8 compat.), took out her hard drive and attached it to my PC, then used TI2013 to do a whole disc backup (not a clone). My PC runs win7.
Now that we have the laptop back and they wiped the drive, I'm trying to restore the backup from my PC to the drive. The restore works as far as TI2013 goes, but the drive in the laptop is not bootable - says no OS found.
What can I do at this point? Am I missing something during the recovery process? Is it a case of TI2013 restoring the image using the wrong boot order? As I said, I did this many times in TI2010 and never had any issues - is it a win8 thing?
Thanks for any help.
