Win7 64-bit for Acronis

Thread needs solution

I am acquiring a new PC with Win7 64-bit ops. Will Acronis True Image Home 2009 work with that system? If not what will I need.

Thanks,

David

2010 worked fine for me for the most part, but i would strongly suggest going with the latest, 2011. it plays friendly with windows 7 - especially if you use SSDs.

II was using 2010 on Win7 64 and the backups went fine though I never tried a restore. I just upgraded to v2011 Home and it's very finnicky. If you get it, DON'T select the Nonstaop backup option. It renders the main program inoperable (simply won't start). I had to go into the services panel to manually stop it from running and starting, then I had to go into task mnager and calncel the TI serveice before I could get the main program running again to do a manual backup.

Then you have to select "Scheduled backup" which is confusing because you don't really schedule anything, you just manually start it.

All in all, not a good upgrade.

If I could, I'd uninstall and go back to 2010 (don't have the 2010 installation file) - this doesn't leave me with a lot of confidence if I ever REALLY need it.

Sigh.
