Windows 10

Thread needs solution

Has anyone restore Windows 10? I backed it up but I can't seem to restore it. I've been using Acronis True Image 2010 which worked fine but now I have Acronis True Image 2015 and it seem they have made it more complicated. When I tried to restore it, it give me 4 places to check including FAT32 so am I suppose to check the entire disk which has 4 places to check to restore it? I know I'm missing some information which I can write down when I try and restore it again.

Yes, but only if I back up in UEFI mode.

How do you back it up in UEFI mode?

My Windows 10 system was installed so that it boots in UEFI mode. When I back it up I boot True Image stand-alone from a CD. The True Image media will boot in either UEFI or Legacy mode so I have to ensure that Legacy mode is disabled in the BIOS when I boot from my CD. There is a message on the screen to conform it is in UEFI mode.

I found out the hard way that if True Image is booted in legacy mode it seems to backup and restore W10 OK but I can not boot from the drive.

If you are installed in legacy mode then I guess boting True Image in that mode is appropriate.
