Windows 10 Compatiblity Message

Thread needs solution

The issue started with a Win 7 Home Premium PC with Acronis 2011 home installed and working fine. I decided to at some point upgrade to Win 10 so I reserved the free copy....when I got the confirmation, I ran the compatibility checker and Acronis 2011 appeared. Thru the Knowledge Base I learned Acronis 2015 Build 6613 would be compatible with Win 10 and could be installed without uninstalling 2011. I installed 2015 over 2011 and updated to build 6613....It works fine, however, the problem is 2011 still shows in Win 10 compatibility checker. I uninstalled Acronis 2015 (which removed the Acronis Folder...) I then installed Acronis 2015 clean, updated to build 6613. Still get the Acronis 2011 incompatible message in Win 10 checker. I'm concerned this will be a problem when doing the win 10 upgrade as if asked, I have no way to uninstall Acronis 2011.....cus it's not there. Sorry for the length of this post, but has anyone had this scenario, and successfully done the Win 10 Upgrade?

I had a similar problem with a display driver, which prevented upgrade to Win10. The driver still showed up despite of uninstalling. A couple of days later, the driver disappeared in the compatibility checker without any further action from myself. There seems to be some sort of memory in the compatibility checker.

Anyhow, according to other posts in this forum, you should completely uninstall any version of TrueImage before upgrading to Win10. Use uninstall procedure from control panel / programs and functions (the normal way to uninstall programs) and then additionally use Acronis cleanup utility (download from https://kb.acronis.com/content/48668 ).
After upgrade to Win10 reinstall ATI2015.

In the meantime you can use ATI2015 recovery media (CD or USB-stick) for any backups/recoverys, which you might perform during ATI2015 is not installed.

Thanks Berti I just found a file (shortcut to Acronis 2011 remote restore) No idea what it was for....clicked it, got message not able to open as target has been relocated or removed. Say what? I deleted it, went back to windows 10 compatiblity checker..Zero programs are incompatible....great. Installed Acronis 2015, did a backup, and tested rescue media. All is well.

Thanks again for your response and additional info.
