Windows 7 can't restore to a shared drive with TI Home 2010

Thread needs solution

Hi.

After a disk failure I decided to go the NAS route and bought a Synology DS209, which is a great bit of kit.
I have it all setup and shares working which I can read and write files to it in Windows 7 Home Premium with no problems.

The problem is when I try to restore my backup from an external USB drive to the shared drive Acronis using True Image Home 2010 build #7046 nothing happens. It just sits there at 0% with no drive activity.

The steps I followed:

Did a restore Folders and Files
Browsed to backup tib file on external USB drive.
Selected Recover.
Selected to restore to a different location.
Selected shared drive as restore location.
Started the recover.

I get the Operation Progress dialog, but nothing happens. The Running... Complete stays at 0%. I left it for two hours just to make sure - zilch. Very frustrating.

I can recover to a spare internal hard disk I have fine, but it's not big enough to take the recovery set. I really need to be able to restore to the shared drive.

Any ideas? Surely this should work?

Thanks

Are you using the UNC path or a mapped drive to access the NAS? If you've only tried it one way, you might try the other one and see if it works.

Hi.

Thanks for your reply. I've tried both. Neither work. It just sits there at 0%. Normal file copies work fine in both modes.
