Windows 7 Dynamic Disks

Thread needs solution

Does True Image Home support Windows 7 Dynamic Disks?
If yes, which version and build?
If no, are there any other True Image versions support it?

Hello Alexander,

Let me shed some light on your concern.

By default, Acronis True Image Home does not support dynamic disks or disks with GUID partition tables (GPT). If there are dynamic or GPT disks on your machine, Acronis True Image Home will not detect them in Windows or from Acronis Bootable Media.

However, you can purchase Acronis Plus Pack add-on that enables the support for such disks. Please note that Acronis True Image 2010 Plus Pack is a separately purchased add-on that can be installed over Acronis True Image Home 2010.

Once the add-on is installed, Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack will have the following features:

Thank you.

You need to purchase TI2010 and the Plus Pack if you want to be able to image and restore Dynamic Disk.

Alternatively ABR2010 will allow you to work with Dynamic Disks from the outset.

What happens if I boot up with a boot image disc and try to make a copy of the hard drive that way?

I just finished a fresh install of windows 7 on a machine here, and somehow, it is already dynamic disk. I have not done this to my knowledge, but who knows?

Just wondering if I boot into the bootable disc of acronis if I can work around this dynamic disk issue?
