Windows 7 reports 'WINLOAD.EXE missing' after recovery attempt
Hi,
I'm testing the following environment:
TI 10 on W7 64, first disk SATA 1TB.
Fresh W7 installation, TI saves all three parts : 100MB hidden W7, 100GB C:-drive, MBR.
Btw: I did these backups with all kind of iterations: one click, manually, sector, ....; just to have choices in my fight to recover.
Then trying to recover to a brand new disk, SATA 1,5TB gross size.
I also tried all kind of potential recovery attempts, it all ends with 'recovery success' but: after restart the boot loader appearently does not find \..\winload.exe and reports like 'windows failed to start with missing winload.exe..., error number 0xc000...'
Booting a recovery CD shows that all partitions look well recovered and BCD reports that winload will be loaded from drive C.
Only if I reinstall W7 manually on the 1,5TB drive, I'm able to restore a previous backup from the first drive (the 1TB one) to the new drive and it works. Using a fresh disk it doesn't.
Any hint is welcome!
regards
GG
