Windows 7 x64 SSD Clone to SATA Hard drive?

Thread needs solution

Hi All!

I have notice that my SSD is running out of space and I wanted to clone my Windows 7 to a partition 1 TB hard drive. I followed the instructions with respect to cloning but after True Image 2010 cloned the SSD to my TB hard drive. It indicated to me to hit any key to shut down. I took out the SSD and replaced it with my hard drive. I am unable to boot into it. I tried using Windows 7 recovery, and it did find my windows 7 folder but it said it was the wrong one drive G instead of C.

Is this the correct way to clone a SSD? I understand Windows 7 has different parameters and maybe this may be the problem?

Here is my current set-up:

C - Windows 7 (SSD)
D, E, and F (Hard drive)(Programs, Games and Backup)

Here is what I want:

C - Windows 7 (Hard drive)
D, E, and F (Hard drive)(same as previous)

Any help will be appreciated! :)

Hello Tron,

Thank you for posting, I will be happy to help.
Actually, the drive letters on the cloned drive should have been reassigned automatically.
So, please run the clone operation again performing so called "reverse clone", you should have the target drive installed in its final location. Try to execute the operation from within Windows, and if this doesn't help, use Acronis Bootable Media.
As a workaround, if you have a storage of the appropriate capacity to place the archive to, create a backup of the entire hard drive and restore the archive file to the new hard drive. Please see this thread on how to preserve the alignment.
Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other questions do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
