Windows 8.1 Recovery Fine Details

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I own an Acer Predator G3-605 desktop computer, it's Windows 8.1 64bit.

I have a limited understanding that Windows 8.1 utilises something called uefi, which is also the technology utilised on my computer. Please excuse me if I'm getting the wrong end of the stick, but I can see this would mean backing up a ''standard MBR'' is not the same like in earlier versions of Windows.

When I use Acronis True Image 2014 to backup (I choose partition mode but select all partitions) can I be assured that whatever equivalent of an MBR or bootloader etc. in Windows 8.1 will be backed up, and if for example my OS doesn't boot - I can restore my Acronis image and it will definitely restore a ''bootable'' or ''healthy'' image that, again, wont suffer from Windows 8.1 uefi problems.

My disk is GPT if that helps. Here is my specs (sorry guys if overkill)

Can anyone confirm that Acronis' images work with OEM hardware, and doesn't cause conflicts etc.

only reason I ask, is that previously, I hosed my EFI/MBR and Acer quite literally couldn't repair it. THey had to replace the hard disk and reinstall Windows 8.1 and reinstall UEFI Lol
