Windows Device Manager: Acronis Devices

Thread needs solution

Windows XP system
First Acronis TI 9.0 Home was installed and in use on this machine.
Now, for about one year Acronis TI 2009 Home is installed and in use.

The Windows on-board Device Manager presents in the group "Acronis Devices"
two positions:
- Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer
- Acronis Backup Archive Explorer

Why must two items to be ?
Which one of those two devices can be removed now?

TI 9.0 uses Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer.
TI 2009 uses Acronis Backup Archive Explorer.

Most likely, the TI 9 version didn't get removed properly. You could try disabling it first and then remove it if it doesn't cause a problem. It would probably be a good idea to make a backup first.

Well, but if to consider the image format changed from 9.0 to 2009 maybe it is good idea to leave both explorers.
Is leaving the old explorer enough to be able to browse images/backups of the 9.0 format?

I doubt both Explorers are being used. I think TI 2009 should be able to access the TI 9 images okay. However, it would be good to check it if you haven't.

If the system isn't having any problems, you may just want to leave it as it is.
