Windows Event Log showing Application Error with Event ID 1000

Thread needs solution

Today TIH 2012 caused the following error to appear in the Windows Event Log as a scheduled backup was starting. The backup nevertheless appeared to proceed and complete ok.

This is the first time I have seen this error.

Event ID 1000

"Faulting application TrueImage.exe, version 15.0.0.5545, time stamp 0x4e4ff564, faulting module ti_managers.dll, version 15.0.0.5545, time stamp 0x4e4fe7a4, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00612b4e, process id 0x1620, application start time 0x01cc806369677dc5."

Thanks

Jerry

 Hello Jerry,

Thank you for taking time to contact us.

We were able to reproduce the issue in our test lab. I have added a new case to our database, the number is ATIHIIOXII-6520.

We will fix the issue as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Thanks Oleg

FYI...

This error occurred again yesterday with a different offset:

"Faulting application TrueImage.exe, version 15.0.0.5545, time stamp 0x4e4ff564, faulting module ti_managers.dll, version 15.0.0.5545, time stamp 0x4e4fe7a4, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x000c6cae, process id 0xb00, application start time 0x01cc860da2040110."

Thought this info might help in debugging this issue.

Jerry

 Hello Jerry,

Thank you for your response.

Most probably, we have fixed the issue. Since we are unable to reproduce the issue is our test lab using the latest build, I ask you to verify the resolution. I am sending the latest build available for now via PMs, could you please install it and see if the issue remains?

Thank you.

I just downloaded my 2012 TIH upgrade and I get the same error. It seems that this was "most probably" fixed back in October but I am receiving this error whenever I try to launch TIH 2012.

Faulting application name: TrueImage.exe, version: 15.0.0.6131, time stamp: 0x4ebb4ea7
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17725, time stamp: 0x4ec49b8f
Exception code: 0xc0000005

What can I do to rectify this issue?
Thanks,

Michael

I've done a lot of troubleshooting since I haven't received any responses, and it seems that I can't run TIH 2012 with Norton Internet Security 2012 operational.. Didn't have any issues with 2010 but I added an SSD to my system and I wanted better support for the newer device.

Every time I try to launch TIH 2012 with Norton running, the application simply fails to run but I can repeatedly see the error in the event log:

Faulting application name: TrueImage.exe, version: 15.0.0.6131, time stamp: 0x4ebb4ea7
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17725, time stamp: 0x4ec49b8f

Hello Michael,

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you with us.

Looks like some kind of a low level drivers conflict. I would recommend to do the following:

  1. Uninstall Acronis True Image Home 2012 according to these instructions (read carefully, as you mustn't run the CleanUp Utility before you prepare the machine for it).
  2. Temporary disable any third party protection software including Norton
  3. Install Acronis True Image Home 2012
  4. Check, whether the issue remains

If the problem is still present, please send us Acronis Info from the problem machine. We will forward the information to the Development team for investigation.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you.

Thanks for your reply.

I'd run through all of the posted suggestions in these forums prior to posting, unfortunately without any success. I finally broke down and contacted support for a refund.
