windows explorer

Thread needs solution

JUST BOUGHT NEW COPY OF TRUE IMAGE PLUS 2013.

I INSTALLED IT ON MY DELL QUAD CORE RUNNING VISTA. THE HARD DRIVE HAS JUS T BEEN FORMATTED AND A NEW COPY OF THE VISTA BUSINESS SP1 OS INSTALLED. A MICROSOFT WEB SITE UPDATE WAS COMPLETED WITHOUT ERROR.

AFTER INSTALLING THE TRUE IMAGE I NOTICED THAT MY WINDOWS EXPLORER WOULD START AND ERROR OUT " SAYING THERE WAS AN ERROR AND THE EXPLORER WAS ENDING."

I HAVE SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER, RESTARTED IT BUT THE EXPLORER KEEPS ERRORING OUT. ANY IDEALS??

I HAVE ALSO UNISTALLED THE PLUS ADD ON AND WAS WONDERING WILL I BE ABLE TO REINSTALL THE SOFTWARE IF I REFORMAT MY HARD DRIVE...

THANKS

First I suggest trying a repair install of 2013, just run th einstaller again and it will offer a 'repair' option. Reboot and see if your problem still remains.

You will be able to reinstall both programs if you reformat your drive, but then you'll also have to reinstall your OS and I don't think your error message will be solved by a reformat. A reinstallation of Vista might be needed, but I think just reinstalling TIH should do the trick.

If Explorer still causes a problem, make a note of the error text and check in windows Event Management to see if there are any other Explorer warnings there.

by the way, you might have noticed your caps lock key is stuck on.
