Windows migration--Vista 32 to Windows 7 64

I need to migrate as a the topic says. Of course, you cannot go from a 32-bit system to a 64-bit wihout a wipe and re-install. I do not to have to setup tons of software and utilities again.

Is there a way TI 2011 can minimize this?

What MAY simplify it a little is that I will put the WIN7 on a new HDD in the same machine.

Has someone been through this scenario that can offer advice?
