Windows won't start after reboot needed for clone utility
Hello All,
Yesterday, I tried to clone my hard drive on the new crucial mx100 SSD that I received. The Acronis version that I have, is the one provided by crucial with the mx100 SSD.
So, I connected my SSD on USB, I ran the clone utility of Acronis True Image 2014, I choosed manual to resize partitions, and I start the clone process.
It did some checking, and ask me to restart the computer to achieve the clone.
My computer restarted on a black screen with a whide band on top, and nothing...
I left my pc started all night, but this morning, nothing has changed.
I can no longer start on Windows...
Can somebody help me ??

Thanks for you answer.
In fact, the clone wasn't made : I tried to unplug my SDD from USB and to reboot but it wasn't working.
I solved my problem by trying to clone again following this steps :
- On another laptop (because mine didn't want to start), I installed acronis true image, and used the utility "create a bootable media" to put acronis on a USB key.
- I put my new SSD (which was empty) in my computer and I connected my old disk (with all data) on USB.
- I started my computer on the USB key with acronis, and I followed the steps to make a clone.
And it worked !

We recommend that you clone only after booting from the ATI bootable Rescue Media, not from Windows. Also, it would be equally effective but safer to perform a full disk mode backup and restore it to the new drive, rather than to clone.

Boot your PC from the Acronis bootable media (CD or Flash Drive) and do the clone this way, which eliminates the need to reboot during the process. You can either make a boot CD from within the program or, if you have registered your product with Acronis, you can go to their web site, log in, and download an ISO file of the boot media. Be sure to heed the program's instructions to disconnect the source drive after cloning and before booting into Windows for the first time.
