Windows XP partition cannot boot in after restored to a new hard drive

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I backed up my current system (Windows XP) using TI 10 and tried to restore to a new bigger hard drive. The restore completed successful. However, it can not boot into XP. It just hangs right before getting into Windows desktop.

Any idea how to get it resolved? Do I have to restore to the same hard drive for the boot to be successful?

Thanks,

Ron

Check item 7B in my signature index.

Boot from the TI Rescue Cd and follow the instructions in the guide. Remember, you can practice doing everything up to the decision screen where you must choose Proceed or Cancel.

Choose Cancel if only practicing. Clicking Proceed will invoke your options and cannot be canceled.
