WinPE disk necessary for use of Plus Pack?

Thread needs solution

Or is the standard recovery disk perfectly fine?
That Microsoft AIK download is huge and my download amounts are limited by by ISP.

It's not needed to create and use a TIH+ recovery disc, but it is needed for the Plus Pack's WinPE ISO Builder feature. It is not impossible to extract individual files from the online WAIK package without downloading the whole thing, but the process is a bit complicated and I can't vouch for Microsoft's view of the ethics. See http://reboot.pro/13049/ .

There are other ways to create your own WinPE builds. For PE1 (WinXP source) you can use the free Acronis BartPE download. For PE2 or PE3 (Vista or Win7 source) you could use something like Winbuilder from http://reboot.pro/forum/22/ .

Hope,

As long as the standard recovery disk can see your disks correctly, and you have tested the recovery of a couple of file, you don't need the WinPE-based disk.
