wrong version, no way to install old one

Thread needs solution

I have acronis home 11 and acronis 10 licenses (the latter is an upgrade license). I decided to reinstall all software on my machine, so I copied out the data and, separately, the email settings.
I've reinstalled windows and most of my software, including Acronis 11, but it says that it cannot recognize the files (I click on a TIB and it says that it isn't an Acronis backup file).

My desktop is running Acr-10, and it sees the files OK.

I tried to install ACR-10 on this machine, but since it is an upgrade license it wants the old code, which I don't have. I also don't see it in my registered licenses list.

Is there a way to convert the old format to the new, or otherwise use the email settings and other old backups? Alternatively, is there a way to recover the old license key?

Thanks

Steve

Acronis changed the imaging algorithm in TIH11 with (I think) the second update. Is it possible that you have installed the first build but made the images with a later one?

Have you made a rescue CD and if so does that read the images? If the CD is able to read the images then runa validation just to make sure they are not corrupt.

Which build are you using?

Have you installed TIH11 on to the same OS as originally used?

Ah, just read that TI10 can read the images, so you would have an early build of TIH11 as later builds should be able to read TI10 images.

Have you tried running a repair install of TI11?
