You do not have enough privileges to get full access to all True Image Functionality.

Thread needs solution

Several weeks ago I upgraded to Acronis True Image 2014 thinking I would gain something. Sadly, the new version will not run and only gives me an error message stating:

Insufficient Privileges

You do not have enough privileges to get full access to all True Image Functionality.

It then exits.

I have been working for weeks with a number of support people trying to get this resolved. They now have Outlook running with Admin privileges and that causes desktop search to not work. And well, I still cannot backup my drive to move it over and I cannot make system backups.

Last week I was told by the support agent that he would take all the info and screenshots and give it to their senior engineer for resolution. Now, still no info and the support agent stated that he would escalate to the next level. I have spent at least 5 hours with support agents logged into my computer.

Is there anyone at Acronis who can actually resolve my issue and undo all the changes that their support agents have made to my system? More importantly, when will I be able to use this app?

Common Acronis, why is this taking so long?

Thank you.

Jim,

This forum is frequented by users like you and me, and infrequently visited by Acronis employees. You are better off following up with Acronis Support.

Hello JimH, Pat,

Jim, I've reviewed your support case and as far as I see we need a few more reports and the case will be escalated for investigation.

Our professionals called you today but reached a voice mail.

Please send us requested logs or let us know if you need any assistance by gathering these reports.

Thank you.

Got exact same problem with just installed Acronis True Image 2014 on Windows 8.1 Enterprise.

System being in domain, a local administrator privileges set "is not enough".

Application accepted to run under a Domain Admin account.

That makes Acronis True Image for PCs almost unusable in the enterprise.

Hope this helps,
/Patrice

I have the same problem. My account is under domain admin but still showing "insufficient privilege". I cannot use the software just recently purchase. Does anyone have the solution ?

All,

Have any of you attempted to take ownership of the Acronis program folder on your machines? If you wish to try this her's how:

Using Explorer

To take ownership:

Open Explorer and browse to the drive, folder, or file. Right-click on it and select Properties from the pop-up menu.

Click the Security tab.

Click the Advanced button. The Advanced Security Settings dialog opens.

In Windows Vista and Windows 7, click the Owner tab and then click the Edit button.

In Windows 8, click the Change link at the top of the dialog where the Owner is displayed.

Select the new owner. If changing ownership on a drive or folder and you wish to include all subfolders and files contained within it, select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects option (on Windows 8, this option is available under the Change link after you change the owner). Click OK.

If a Windows Security message box is displayed informing you that you need to close and reopen the properties, click OK to close it. When setting ownership on a drive there may be message that permissions will need to be modified (allow it to make the changes).

Close the Advanced Security Settings dialog and the Properties dialog
