Acronis True Image 2015 MAC fail

Thread needs solution

It appears that when using Acronis True Image 2015 to backup a MAC to a NAS, it creates a file that will be overwritten by another MAC doing exactly the same.
Why?
Because Aronis does not let you name the backup file in a unique way or even better, uses the machine name as the filename for the backup target.
This means, if you want to use the product, you have to create several folders, one for each machine. The more MACs you want to backup, the more folders you need.

This is a complete product design fail!

Hello cyberspirit,

by default Acronis True Image for Mac checks the destination before creating a backup archive (.tib and .tib.metadata files), so if there is an archive with the supposed name a new archive with a number tag will be created.

For example: if you have already 'My Mac' archive on the destination and try to create another backup of another Mac to the same destination - a new 'My Mac-2' archive will be created.

To investigate you issue we would need more information:
-your NAS specification (name, model, protocol used for sharing)
-Acronis System Report from both Macs (or at least from the second, which overwrote the existing archive).

You can send all the needed info within the Feedback (Acronis True Image -> Menu -> Send Feedback),
just put the link to this forum thread to the description in Feedback.

Thank you in advance for cooperation.
Kind regards,
