Am I missing a button?
I am a long time Acronis user starting with the wonderful version 8. I also have two version 2012 as well as the WD Version and have made thousands of backups to local disks and dvd's. I am now using 25GB Blue Ray disk for archive storage of both Mac and PC projects, although most work is done on macs.
Before taking the plunge to upgrade or buy new 3 versions of the Mac backup software, I have been testing a trial version of the Acronis Mac 2015 version and have the following questions?
1) Where did all the functionality go? The property buttons that I find are dumbed down to almost nothing!
2) Why does it run so slow?
3) Why can't I figure out how to exclude files?
4) How do you get the functionality back to limit the size of the archives? This has been available for the past 10 years.
5) Can you no longer mount archives so their contents can be viewed and used?
I am sure there is simply a button missing that opens up the previously available pc functionality and I just haven't found it yet. It seems very impractical to back up 500GB to the cloud and pay for that much storage vs the price of an external usb3 drive.
Do I just need to wait longer for a full functionality Acronis Mac Version or is my version just missing a button?

Hi wen,
please note that Acronis True Image 2015 for PC and Acronis True Image 2015 for Mac have many differences in terms of design and features.
Please take a look at Acronis True Image for Mac user guide and product KB article.
Let me know if any questions remain after checking the above resources!
Thank you.

Thanks Sergy & Anna for trying to answer the questions. The hardware source drive is a M500 Crucial SSD and the destination drive is a 4TB Seagate USB3 drive. The image size is only 141 GB. Takes about 30 minutes with Super Duper.
Anna, I read both those references before I started the evaluation copy. After using Acronis for many years on pc systems, I simply could not believe that the apple version was dumbed down to the point that is unusable for me as a backup program.
I will take Sergy's advise and wait to see if the apple version actually becomes a usable back up program, in which case, I really want one.

Dear Acronis-Team,
I almost cannot believe reading that the Mac Version is lacking basic standard features like Partition / File exclusion, which makes it completely unusable for me (I need it for a backup of my Bootcamp Partition, my Mac Partition is backed up by Time Machine).
At least currently I'm really disappointed and regret that I spent my precious money on such an incomplete piece of software.
I think for a $50 piece of software - and for a well-known and honored backup suite - this is absolutely not acceptable.
I really hope that the missing features are delivered quite soon.
In the meantime, would it be possible to get any advice on my use case (Bootcamp Backup, no Backup of Mac Partition required)?
Kind Regards
Martin

Use the Disk Utility and Restore (wrong word, it will copy...) the Bootcamp partition to whatever media you have. The same way you can put it back if necessary.
