ATI 2015 fails to show my USB thumb drive

Thread needs solution

I am running True Image 2015 for Mac version 1.0.6030 on Yosemite.
I have been so impressed by the PC version of ATI that I bought a copy for my new Mac.

My aim is to backup files from my 32GB USB Kingston Traveller Elite thumb drive to an archived .tib file.
After I installed the software I found that when I clicked the "My Mac" area the Select Source window only Machintosh HD was shown despite my USB drive showing up in the devices section of Finder. I experimented with restarts and moving the USB drive to a different slot but nothing worked.

This drive was originally formated as FAT32 and I have since formatted it as ExFAT in case it made any difference, but it did not. Strangely my old 4GB Chinese unbranded USB thumb drive does show up as a backup source in True Image, but not my premium branded Kingston one. This lead me to think that it might be defective but in all tests I have carried out it, it passes...

So why does this not show up as a backup source?
Acronis support tried unsuccessfully to rectify the fault and I have attached a log file in case it helps.

Hello Mark,

thank you for your report and question.
Please apologize for the delayed response.

It is a very strange case.

All shown in the provided log drives except the Kingston have a known partition table, i.e.:
GUID_partition_scheme (GPT)
FDisk_partition_scheme (MBR)

For Kingston we see 'none'.

If it still reproduces with the latest Acronis True Image for Mac version, I would suggest to
erase the whole flash - including to change the partition table (eg. from MBR to GPT and back) and retry with backup.

Thank you for you cooperation in advance.
Kind regards,
