Bootable USB on Macbook Air

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have a Macbook Air (September 2014) on wich I only have Windows. The bootble USB of Acronis does not boot on this computer so I cannot use Acronis. It does boot in other PC.

If I boot the mac and press option I see the Acronis bootable device (called EFI), but when I select it, it does not boot.

I have created this USB with the latest Acronis true image 2015 version.

Any solution?

Best regards.

I did such a thing, and I have Lion installed on a 2009 Mac Mini working perfectly.
Here's what I did.
Format a USB drive of at least 4GB size with Disk Utility, and use the format Mac OS Extended (Journaled) (don't close Disk Utility yet).
Open the Lion installer, with right click and click on "Package Contents"
Go to the folder Content/Shared Support and mount the "InstallESD.dmg".
Back in Disk Utility, press the restore button and select the installer you just mounted. Wait for it to finish...
Turn your Mac Mini on, while holding down the option key, and you'll see the USB drive as one of the ones you can choose from, choose it, and then just follow the steps to install Lion, it's pretty straightforward.
I had zero issues doing this both with a DVD and a USB drive (although I recommend the later) on various machines. Good luck!
