Destination Settings Not Saved

Thread needs solution

Version 1.0.6564

For some reason, my backup destination is not saved.
I back up to a network share (SMB), which works just fine if I "Select other Destination" and browse to the location. Once selected I can backup no problem, but the destination isn't there when I quit the program and restart; hence none of the scheduled backups work.

Acronis remembers the credentials for the network share, so there's no problem there, but for some unknown reason, it doesn't remember the "Other Destination" I've told it to use.
I've checked the True Image Help and Knowledge Base, but can't find anything in there about this problem.

Hello Christopher,

thank you for your feedback.

Could you please correct me, if I understand you wrong:
-you start the backup to SMB share (selected via 'Select other Destination')
-backup completes successfully
-you restart the Acronis True Image for Mac and the destination is shown as 'not available'

Do you restart your Mac or unmount share?

Kind regards,

You are correct, except that when I restart the application the backup button is greyed out as the destination is not configured.
The share was not unmounted, Neither the client or server have ben restarted, nor has any network hardware.
The same occurs if I edit the current profile, save the changes and exit without actually performing a backup.

If I start Acronis and click recover files, I get a wait spin animation while it loads the latest backup image and populates the file list.
I can select and recover files successfully, and afterwards the backup button is available, but the destination is listed as Acronis - 0 bytes of 0 bytes free (presumably Acronis cloud which is not set up)

Could you please provide the Acronis System Report gathered when the share is mounted.
Please refer to the following article:
https://kb.acronis.com/content/47211

You can send the system report in a PM (private message) to me directly.

Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,

Hello Christopher,

thank you for the provided System Report.

You have the SMB share mounted as //chris@server/Acronis at the moment of System Report gathering,
and in the logs with successfull backup the share is mounted as //chris@10.1.1.250/Acronis.
Could you have remounted share? Maybe mounted the share in different ways (by IP or by name)?

I suppose, if you will remount share by IP - you will get back the success with backups.

Thank you for your help by investigation.
Kind regards,
