Entire PC vs. File Backup

Thread needs solution

Is there any reason to backup files separately if periodically doing an Entire MAC backup? Assume the Entire backup includes all files for all users? Does it include backing up Shared folders?

I can't seem to select multiple folders to backup but only one at a time....is that a current limitation if want to backup files on MAC?

Also, are separate files created when doing each Entire MAC backup or does it just overwrite existing backup file with any changes since last backup?

Thanks,

Hello Brian Myers.

We usually recommend creating several backups to different locations. This especially applies to important data on your computer.

Entire machine backup actually includes all files and folders for all users. As for shared folders: did I get right that these shared folders are physically situated on some other device on your network rather than on Mac where True Image for Mac is installed? If yes, than machine backup does not include these folders. Such folders need to be added manually to “Files and folders” backup.

You can select multiple folders for backup pressing down and holding “Shift” key.

When creating full and incremental backups with one backup plan all backups are stored in one archive, no separate files created.

Thank you.
